U.S. Highway 80 section to close for four days in July

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – The Georgia Department of Transportation announced on Thursday that there will be a four-day closure for railroad crossing improvements on U.S. Highway 80 between State Route 25/Main Street and Allen Boulevard.

This means West Bay Street will be closed at the railroad crossing and traffic will be detoured starting on Tuesday, July 8 through Friday, July 11.

GDOT said this is at the request of Norfolk Southern Railroad. They will have contractors installing the road closure with a detour. Traffic cannot cross the railroad tracks during this work.

They said people will be able to get to businesses, schools, and residences in the area up to the work zone…
