GA man killed in crash with pickup truck while leaving Hardeeville area

A 61-year-old driver from Georgia was killed Sunday afternoon after his muscle car collided “head-on” with a pickup truck in southern Jasper County, officials said.

Mark Lang, of Stone Mountain, was pronounced dead at the scene following the crash around 3 p.m. Sunday, according to the Jasper County Coroner’s Office.

Lang was the only occupant of his 2012 Ford Mustang as he drove south on U.S. 17 (Speedway Boulevard) away from the Hardeeville area. Near the highway’s intersection with Telfair Plantation Drive — about 3 miles from the Georgia border — he struck a 2016 Ford F-150 “head-on” as the truck drove in the opposite direction, according to Master Trooper William H.
