The wait is over. Local park in Richmond Hill to reopen Monday.

Sterling Creek Park, Richmond Hill’s beloved outdoor recreation space, is reopening. The city of Richmond Hill confirmed the park will open July 7 under new park hours from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week. Hours will be adjusted when daylight changes.

The city has also installed an electronic gate as the old gate was damaged. In addition, on-site staff will be on hand to enforce the rules.

“Existing rules, including no solo swimming, a ban on smoking and drinking, and a requirement for individuals under 16 to be accompanied by an adult, will be strictly monitored and enforced,” said Molly Hall, communications specialist for the city of Richmond Hill…
