SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Tuesday afternoon was hot and humid across the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry. Most locations made it into the low to mid 90s for highs with heat index values over 105°F at times.
Savannah made it to 95°F at 2:13 p.m. with a peak heat index of 106°F. More summer heat and more storms are expected through the rest of the workweek.
A LOOK AHEAD
Wednesday morning will start out partly to mostly cloudy with warm and humid conditions. Lows will start out in the mid to upper 70s. A few showers and storm are expected to develop by the mid-morning for our western communities in places like Montgomery, Jeff Davis, and Appling County.
Showers and storms will become more widespread by noon for areas generally west of I-95. Storms will continue to spread toward the coast as the afternoon goes on.
