First Alert: Severe storms and flooding will be possible this afternoon

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – Today is a First Alert Weather Day: There is a chance for severe storms, flooding and heat index values near 110 degrees this afternoon.

After a quiet start, another Heat Advisory will be in effect from 11AM – 8PM. High temperatures will be in the mid 90s, with heat index values topping out near 110 degrees. Just like yesterday, make sure you remain hydrated and take breaks from the heat if you have to be outside for extended periods of time!

Showers and storms will cool some of us off quicker today, with a threat for severe weather this afternoon into the early evening. The sea breeze will push storms inland this afternoon, bringing very heavy rainfall with it. The storms that form will have the capability of producing damaging wind gusts and heavy rainfall…
