Man who shot teen canvasing for Sen. Raphael Warnock pleads guilty

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Jimmy Paiz, the man accused of shooting a teenage canvassing for Sen. Raphael Warnock’s (D-Ga.) campaign, pleaded guilty on Monday.

In 2022, Paiz was charged with aggravated assault and aggravated battery in connection to the incident, which occurred during the senate run-off election. He pleaded guilty to both charges.

The victim, Javonte Vann who was 15 years old at the time, was canvassing for Warnock’s campaign when the shooting happened…
