SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — A crane being towed by a tugboat in the Savannah River hit Talmadge Memorial Bridge Friday afternoon and fell into the water, officials confirmed.
The bridge reopened to traffic going both ways, Savannah Police Department announced as of 5:54 p.m.
The U.S. Coast Guard has also cleared the Savannah River channel for boat traffic starting at 10:30 p.m. Friday, with no restrictions, a Georgia Ports Authority spokesperson said.

No injuries or casualties were reported, Savannah Firefighters said.
