Hitchin’ a ride: gator calls shotgun with CCPD

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Three Chatham County Police Department officers had a unique transport Monday.

The officers responded to a dangerous animal call and found an alligator on Redding Court.

CCPD officers are trained to deal with these situations. Officer Pascoe held the gator’s body while Officer Marcantel held its snout shut. Officer Coleman then wrapped the gator’s mouth with duct tape.

Officer Marcantel placed the gator in the back of his patrol car and drove it to the Al Bungard Conservation Area. Officer Pascoe then carried the gator to a pond and held its snout while Officer Coleman held its tail. Officer Marcantel was then able to safely remove the duct tape and it was released back into the wild unharmed…
