Water probes stolen out of the Ogeechee River

BLOOMINGDALE, Ga. (WSAV) — The Ogeechee Riverkeeper installed a handful of water probes that collect data from different parts of the river, but a set of them have been stolen.

Officials with the Ogeechee River said after the Hyundai facility was announced they wanted to be proactive and collect a good baseline of date from the surrounding areas.

“It was 2022, we started collecting data of four parameters, so temperature dissolved, oxygen, PH and conductivity downstream from where the discharge would go into the river,” Riverkeeper and Executive Director of the Ogeechee Riverkeeper Damon Mullis said. “We had four probes out to collect those four parameters and they collect data every 30 minutes.”…
