SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Savannah Mayor Van Johnson provided an update Tuesday on the renovation work happening to the fountain in Forsyth Park.
“[The] fountain traveled 300 miles from Alabama and is back here in Savannah, where it belongs,” Johnson said at his weekly news conference. “We’re excited about that.”
The fountain installation will take much of Tuesday, according to Johnson, but more work will need to be done in the coming weeks.
“Even though the fountain will be back in the basin, it will not be turned on this week so don’t come out there expecting that,” Johnson said. “The full restoration process is expected to take several more weeks to complete.”…
