Marshall House in Savannah Ranked Among Top Haunted Hotels in U.S.

SAVANNAH, GEORGIA — A historic Savannah landmark has just been recognized as one of the spookiest destinations in the country. The Marshall House, a 174-year-old hotel on Broughton Street, has been ranked No. 7 on USA Today’s 10Best list of haunted hotels.

A Civil War Hospital Turned Haunted Hotel

Opened in 1851, the Marshall House has long been a staple of Savannah’s historic district. During the Civil War, the building was converted into a Union Army hospital, and many believe the spirits of patients still linger within its walls.

Guests over the years have reported eerie encounters, from apparitions in hallways and foyers to the sound of children running down corridors late at night. Other stories include faucets turning on by themselves and ghostly figures appearing in mirrors.
