Savannah traffic could be backed up this weekend due to multiple events

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – The City of Savannah is telling residents and travelers to expect delays over the weekend due to multiple events around the city.

On Saturday, Oct. 25, the following events will be taking place:

  • Savannah State University (SSU) Homecoming Parade
  • SCAD Film Fest
  • Pride Festival 2025
  • Wag-O-Ween
  • Walk to End Alzheimer’s

The SSU parade will mean that traffic will be rerouted on several Downtown Savannah streets. The parade begins at 9 a.m., with no parking zones taking effect earlier in the morning. The parade begins on East Broad Street at Liberty, then travels north to Broughton Street, westto Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and then south to West Gwinnett Street before it disbandson May Street and Anderson Street.

No parking zones will be marked prior to the parade. Vehicles remaining in no-parking zones after the indicated times will be towed at the owner’s expense. Traffic in these areas is expected to be very heavy until after 1 p.m.
