Arik Gilbert, former LSU and Georgia tight end, arrested on burglary and obstruction charges

Arik Gilbert, one of the country’s most heralded recruits in the class of 2020, is back in the news once again for legal reasons.

According to CBSSports.com’s Cody Nagel, Gilbert has been arrested in the Savannah, Ga. area on shoplifting and obstruction allegations. Gilbert currently faces a bond of $3,500.

Gilbert, who hasn’t played football since 2022, was signed by LSU and enrolled in January 2020. In 8 games, he made 35 catches for 368 yards and 2 touchdowns, but opted out before the 2020 season ended due to injury…
