Bank robbery suspect also charged in home invasion

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — The man arrested and in custody for a recent bank robbery has now been charged for a separate crime by the Savannah Police Department (SPD).

Eric Williams, 37, was already in custody in connection to the robbery of the Bank of America on E. Victory Drive on Oct. 23. He has now been charged in a home invasion that occurred that morning.

Williams was charged with home invasion, two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of kidnapping, two counts of false imprisonment, theft by taking firearm, theft by taking auto and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

SPD officers responded to a report of the home invasion, armed robbery and auto theft around 8:30 a.m. in the 1400 block of E. 40th St.

No injuries were reported from the incident…
