SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – Today looks to be our last warm day of the week, with freezing temperatures set to move in by Monday night. For now, we’re still on the warm and humid side of the incoming cold front, and highs this afternoon will climb into the low 80s under a mix of sun and clouds. As we head into the afternoon, isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible as the cold front moves through. A few storms could be on the stronger side, with gusty winds and isolated hail being the main concerns.
Once the cold front pushes through this evening, temperatures will plummet overnight into the lower 40s. Tomorrow will be much cooler, with highs only reaching the low to mid 50s under sunshine as high pressure builds in. The real cold arrives tomorrow night, with lows expected to drop below freezing into the upper 20s and lower 30s.
Be sure to remember the Four Ps:
- People: Dress warm, check on others, limit time outside
- Pets: Bring them inside, provide shelter, check on their paws
- Pipes: Insulate pipes, let faucets drip, open cabinet doors
- Plants: Cover outdoor plants, bring sensitive plants inside
Tuesday will stay cool, with highs in the low 50s and another freeze possible Tuesday night. By Wednesday, temperatures begin to rise into the mid 60s, and by Thursday, highs will return to the lower 70s. Lows will still be cool for the rest of the week as we remain in the 40s…
