SAVANNAH Ga. (WSAV) – Origin Coffee Bar is providing free meals to people who rely on Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits and are facing food insecurities.
Elise and Matt Higgins, the coffee shop owners, sat down with their general managers to figure out how they could help when SNAP benefits were revoked. With their kitchen and connection to food resources, they knew they had what it took to provide free meals and quickly got the rest of the staff on board.
