BEAUFORT COUNTY, S.C. (WSAV) — Beaufort County Sheriff P.J. Tanner addresses the public about the shooting at Willie’s Bar and Grill on St. Helena Island in October.
According to Sheriff Tanner, a suspect named Anferny Freeman has been charged with four counts of murder, among other charges.
The shooting took place on Sunday, Oct. 12, at approximately 1 a.m. outside the St. Helena bar. 15 people were injured during the shooting and individuals died as a result of injuries sustained:
- Kashawn Glaze, 22, from Beaufort, S.C.
- Chiraad Smalls, 33, from Beaufort, S.C.
- A’shan’tek Milledge, 22, Burton, S.C.
- Amos Gary, 54, from St. Helena, SC
According to reports, Glaze and Freeman had years of ongoing differences. They had a brief encounter before the shooting that escalated to drawing weapons and shooting.
Sheriff Tanner stated that they have evidence to support that there were three shooters in the incident. One shooter involved, Kashawn Glaze, is confirmed to be deceased…
