SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – The Savannah Fire Department (SFD) responded to a house fire Sunday evening that claimed the life of one person.
Around 7:31p.m. Sunday evening, SFD was dispatched to a residential fire on the 4100 block of Raybun Street. Crews arrived on scene to find heavy smoke and flames visible.
The firefighters were able to get the fire under control quickly. A search found one resident within the home. The individual was removed from the home, given life saving measures and transported to the hospital by EMS where they succumbed to their injuries.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by Savannah Fire Arson Unit. WSAV will provide updates to this story as new information is made available…
