Bells ring for first time since renovations at Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — The bells were ringing at the iconic Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist Thursday, celebrating the completion of long-awaited renovations of the cathedral’s spires.

After cracks were found in the steeples in 2012, the work to renovate the structure required a long, intricate approach to ensure that the 150-year-old building and its 128-year-old spires continue to stand tall over the Hostess City.
