Beach alum still remembers Savannah roots through success

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — The SEC volleyball tournament brought some of the biggest stars of the sport to the Hostess City. One Savannah star we were keeping an eye on was not on the court. Beach alum Misty Brown shares her story on how growing up here led to her success.

“In my role,” Brown said, “I have a student-athlete engagement hat that I wear where I get to work with our student athletes on leadership careers, make sure they are aware of rules that affect their sport and make sure they are involved in our governance process.  And then on the competition side, I oversee the sports of gymnastics and SEC volleyball.”

Misty Brown just celebrated 10 years with the SEC. She is the Assistant Commissioner for Competition and Student-Athlete Engagement. She is also over the sport of women’s volleyball and gymnastics…
