Last suspect in Oglethorpe Mall shooting pleads not guilty

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — The last suspect taken into custody in connection to the Oglethorpe Mall shooting pleaded not guilty in court Tuesday.

Now seventeen-year-old Franklin James Jr. was denied bond in early September by Judge John Morse. He appeared in front of Judge Morse again Tuesday, this time to plead not guilty to over a dozen charges.

James was the sixth suspect to be arrested in connection to the shooting. The charges he and the five others face are related to the death of Olislene “Tina” Smith…
