SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — A statewide initiative is set to require all Georgia public schools to carry opioid overdose kits but the Savannah-Chatham County Public School System (SCCPS) has carried them since 2022.
SCCPS schools carry opioid overdose kits that include personal protective equipment and two Narcan. Narcan is a nasal spray that temporarily reverses the effects of an opioid overdose and helps restore breathing.
