POOLER, Ga. (WSAV) – Citizens filled the Pooler City Council meeting Monday to voice their concerns on a proposed variance request that would allow new construction near Tom Triplett Park.
Ben Wall, owner of the land by the park, made the proposal to be able to construct a stormwater detention facility and underground storm drainage infrastructure within the required 50-foot buffer along the rear property line, for his multi-building commercial development.
Wall said the land he bought is already “narrow and unique,” making it hard to work with.
He said the money budgeted for the stormwater infrastructure includes about $200,000 for plans for approximately 500 trees to enhance the buffer and try to hide the buildings from the park…
