JASPER COUNTY, S.C. (WTOC) – Scammers are pretending to be officers of the law in Jasper County, according to the sheriff’s office.
In a social media post, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office says it has “received reports from residents about a scammer impersonating Lt. Jenkins of the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.”
The JCSO says the scam caller falsely claims there is a warrant for your arrest and demands payment. The scammer has even set up a fake voicemail recording in hopes people will leave messages…
