CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) – Delano Middleton, the man charged with stabbing and killing 18-year-old J.T. Schroeder at the Wilmington Island Walmart, was indicted by a Chatham County Grand Jury on Wednesday, January 7.
The altercation between the two occurred at the Highway 80 Walmart on Oct. 23 of 2025. According to reports, Schroeder reportedly kicked Middleton’s shopping cart as he was leaving the store, a Chatham County Police Department (CCPD) spokesperson told WSAV.

Schroeder later died at a local hospital the following Monday as a result of his injuries.
Middleton is due to be arraigned on March 18th at 11:30 a.m.
