BEAUFORT COUNTY S.C (WCIV) — A St. Helena Island man has been arrested in connection with a September 2025 shooting that left one man dead in Burton, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s office announced Friday.
Deputies arrested Tyre Joe Atkins, 21, on Jan 16. and charged him with murder, attempted murder, felon in possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime, and aggravated breach of peace, deputies said.
