SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Showers and storms move through overnight before a very cold week settles in.
A cluster of showers and embedded storms will move across our area Sunday night, bringing a brief bout of strong wind gusts and locally heavy downpours. Some areas that drain poorly may find localized flooding. Rain tapers off by the morning hours Monday, and we will be left with a chilly day.
Strong winds and dry air moving in will dry out our area during the day Monday, limiting any concerns for black ice Monday night. Attention then shifts to the cold temperatures as a stretch of very cold nights and chilly days sets in.
Wind chills will be dangerous for our standards with lows in the upper teens to lower 20s feeling like the teens Tuesday morning. Bundle up when you head out for work or school. Protect the Four P’s as well since several hard freezes will take place west of I-95 throughout the week.
Temperatures will remain below average this week, with highs mainly in the 40s. Next weekend continues to look very cold as well, but there are no consistent signals for any significant storm system or precipitation chances as of yet. We will keep you updated!…
