SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – [UPDATE 12:09 p.m.] The fire is now out and some crews are beginning to leave the scene. Officials say the home was unoccupied except for a dog, which ran out of the house safely.
Crews arrived on the scene around 11:16 a.m. and noticed heavy smoke coming from the home. The scene is being cleared now but the road is currently still blocked.
[ORIGINAL STORY] There is currently a residential structure fire at 315 W. 40th Street, Savannah Fire has confirmed to WTOC.
Traffic control has been initiated and locals should avoid the areas of W. 40th from Montgomery to Jefferson.
