Closed-door CAT meeting set for today in Chatham County

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – A closed-door meeting about Chatham Area Transit (CAT) is set for later Friday afternoon. County Commissioners plan to meet for an executive session to discuss pending litigation involving CAT.

CAT said it was not invited and has not been informed what county leaders plan to discuss behind closed doors. This meeting comes after months of legal disputes between Chatham County and Chatham Area Transit.

County leaders have accused CAT of misusing taxpayer dollars and warned they could end funding as early as next year. CAT officials strongly deny those claims, citing multiple court rulings that have so far gone in CAT’s favor…
