Smart watch alerts local man to dangerous heart condition

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Advances in technology have contributed to medical care in many ways, including helping patients catch heart issues early, sometimes before they even know something is wrong.

Daniel Smith was going about a normal night when his smart watch started making a dinging noise and sent a notification that prompted him to seek medical care. The smart watch notification lead to the discovery that he was in a dangerous stage of atrial fibrillation.
