Two teens were formally charged by a Chatham County grand jury last week for allegedly murdering a 14-year-old while attempting to steal his gun.
On Sept. 18, 2025, court documents state Marcus Thomas Jr. and Caesar Thompkins Jr. tried to rob Markel Bush at gunpoint, attempting to take his 9mm handgun. The accused, both 18-years-old at the time of their arrest, reportedly shot and killed Bush, 14.
Savannah Police Department (SPD) officers arrived to the 700 block of W. 57th St. where the shooting is alleged to have taken place and found Bush unresponsive. EMS transported Bush to Memorial Health University Medical Center for treatment where he died from his injuries…
