SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — The Savannah community is remembering a beloved teacher after she was hit and killed during a crash involving a driver who was fleeing from federal immigration agents Monday.
According to a Chatham County Police Department (CCPD) spokesperson, Linda Davis was killed in the crash that happened before 7:45 a.m. on Whitefield Avenue at the Truman Parkway intersection.
Oscar Vasquez-Lopez, 38, was fleeing from Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (DHS/ICE) officers, made an illegal U-turn and ran a red light when he hit Davis’s car.
