UPDATE: Savannah police officer failed to use due regard in crash that injured civilian, GSP says

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – [UPDATE 2/17/26 12:46 p.m.] Preliminary findings from the Georgia State Patrol state a Savannah Police Officer failed to use due regard at a red light, leading to a crash Monday night.

The crash happened after at the intersection of Abercorn St. and Largo Drive in Savannah.

A GSP trooper was called to the scene at 11:14 p.m. to investigate the two-car crash. The investigation found the SPD officer failed to use due regard at a red signal, causing the SPD car to hit another vehicle…
