It’s quiet at a rather plain-looking, white industrial office building located at 1 Caesarstone Dr. in Richmond Hill. The owner, Caesarstone, has been tapering activity there for the past few years.
Not much comes to the property other than some construction vehicles, said a security guard stationed at the entrance covered with faded signs. At first glance, the guard’s day-to-day tasks would seem mostly minimal.
But the guards also conduct fire checks every hour, 24 hours a day, the guard said. And there are signs around the property, designating smoking and non-smoking areas, they added. While the guard has not seen any signs of fire in their year-long employment, a sense of caution still hangs in the air…
