Delta flight to Atlanta loses engine on takeoff in Savannah, grass fire sparked

SAVANNAH, Ga. — A Delta Air Lines flight bound for Atlanta was forced to turn back shortly after takeoff Sunday night when an engine failure sparked a grass fire near the runway in Savannah, prompting an investigation.

The Federal Aviation Administration said it is investigating the incident involving the Delta flight that departed from Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport.
