City of Savannah announces new press secretary

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — The City of Savannah has announced Monique Williams as press secretary for the Office of Marketing and Communications.

Williams started in the role March 9. She brings more than 25 years of experience across print, radio, television, corporate communications, public relations, strategic communications, public affairs, executive leadership and community engagement.

An Emmy-nominated journalist, columnist, writer and speechwriter, Williams is widely respected for her impactful storytelling and commitment to public service.

As a former news anchor and reporter, she built a reputation for holding the powerful accountable while giving voice to those who often go unheard. Her reporting has influenced political landscapes, contributed to changes in law and earned national features on TVOne, Investigation Discovery (ID), and The Dr. Phil Show
