Additional evidence halts hearings for downtown Savannah spying case

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — The owner of a Savannah gift shop, accused of watching a woman in her apartment without her consent, was back in a Chatham County courtroom Thursday.

Thomas Hinely, 38, was scheduled for a trial docket and motion hearing Thursday afternoon, but the introduction of additional evidence halted the proceedings for now.

Defense Attorney Thomas Withers told Judge Timothy Walmsley that he needed more time to review a terabyte of discovery, which Withers received Tuesday. Withers asked to reschedule the motions hearing while he reviews this evidence…
