Chatham County judge lets case proceed against driver fleeing federal agents

CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) – A preliminary hearing in Recorder’s Court Thursday found sufficient probable cause to move forward with charges in the crash that killed Savannah teacher Dr. Linda Davis.

Chatham County Police Department Officer Kirby Pulliam testified that he responded to a three-vehicle crash Feb. 16 at Truman Parkway and Whitfield Avenue. Davis and Oscar Vasquez-Lopez, the driver involved, had already been transported to the hospital before Pulliam arrived.

Pulliam said Davis was trapped in her vehicle due to the force of the impact, conscious at the time, and required fire department crews to use multiple tools to cut the roof off before she could be extracted. She is believed to have died on the way to the hospital…
