EOA opens energy assistance for Chatham County seniors April 1

SAVANNAH, Ga. (WTOC) – Chatham County seniors and homebound residents can apply for help with energy costs through LIHEAP starting April 1. Appointment calls open at 7 p.m. for eligible residents age 65 and older.

To schedule, applicants must call (912) 721-7910. Appointments will not be made online or through the EOA office. Callers will follow prompts to accept an assigned date and time, or hang up and call back for another option.

Households must meet 2026 income guidelines and bring required documents to their appointment, including a current electric bill, Social Security cards for all household members, photo ID, and proof of income for the past 30 days…
