Officers Catch Children Dropped From Balcony During Savannah Apartment Fire

SAVANNAH, Ga. — Police officers helped rescue multiple people, including two children, during an early morning apartment fire Sunday, officials said.

The fire broke out around 4 a.m. on April 12, 2026, at the Georgetown Oaks Apartments on King George Boulevard. Officers with the Chatham County Police Department were the first to arrive on scene.
