The Coastal Regional Commission of Georgia is looking into whether or not the City of Pooler violated a state statute on approving large projects, according to an email sent to Pooler staff.
The Development of Regional Impact (DRI) process is a mandatory, state-created process that allows regional and state agencies to weigh in on large projects. Prior to local governments taking actions like rezonings or other major approvals, qualifying projects of certain scales must be submitted to regional commissions like the CRC.
