SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) – It’s going to be another very warm and humid day across the region, with highs climbing into the upper 80s and lower 90s. With extra moisture in place, there is the chance for a few stray showers and storms to develop west of I-95 this afternoon and evening. We’re under a low-end risk for a few of these storms to become strong to severe due to the added instability from the heat and humidity. The main threats will be gusty winds and the possibility of isolated small hail.
The extra moisture clears out tomorrow, bringing a return to sunshine, although it will remain warm and humid with highs again in the upper 80s and lower 90s. The same pattern continues into Tuesday.
Our next larger weather system begins to approach on Wednesday, bringing the chance for stray showers and isolated storms. This front is expected to slow down and eventually stall over the region late in the week and into Memorial Day weekend. That means isolated showers and storms will remain possible Thursday, with more scattered activity expected Friday and Saturday. Temperatures stay well above average, with highs in the upper 80s and lower 90s.
We’ll continue to monitor this stalled front closely, as it looks to keep conditions warm, humid, and unsettled through much of the holiday weekend…
