Man electrocuted after ‘tampering’ with SRP equipment, Mesa police say

MESA, Ariz. — A man sustained critical injuries after he allegedly tampered with electrical equipment at an SRP substation in the East Valley, according to Mesa police.

On June 21 at about 5 a.m., a man called 911 requesting help after he sustained severe burns to his body. Mesa police officers responded to the area of Elliot Road and Everton Terrace and located the injured individual.

Police said the man had allegedly gained access to a substation and apparently tampered with electrical equipment before he was electrocuted. SRP told police the man did not work for them…
