A single table inside a North Scottsdale restaurant is now the most expensive seat in the Valley’s dining scene, with Belmont Kitchen & Cocktails charging $1,000 per guest for a new chef’s table experience that requires a minimum of four diners just to book it. That four-person floor means anyone reserving the experience is committing to at least $4,000 before tips and taxes are even added, according to a report from Mouth by Southwest.
The experience is billed as a once-in-a-lifetime dinner and is available for just one table, according to a report from KTAR News, which first covered the new offering. The first chef’s table event is scheduled for November 7 and can be booked through OpenTable, per the station’s report. Diners get multicourse tasting menus built around their personal preferences, along with specially selected wine pairings, and executive chef Alex Stratta and his team interact with the table throughout the night, the outlet reported.
A Kitchen Led By A Vegas And Scottsdale Veteran
Stratta previously served as executive chef at Mary Elaine’s inside the Phoenician resort in Scottsdale, where he won the James Beard Award for Best Chef in the American Southwest in 1998, per the same account. That win led him to Las Vegas, where he ran Alex at Wynn Las Vegas and earned two Michelin stars, according to the station’s report. Before landing in Scottsdale, Stratta trained under Alain Ducasse at Louis XV in Monaco and Daniel Boulud at Le Cirque in New York, and led Mirage’s Renoir in addition to Wynn’s Alex, according to Mouth by Southwest.
Stratta’s path back to fine dining wasn’t a straight line. Following a colon cancer diagnosis in the early 2010s, he lost over 100 pounds and temporarily pivoted away from haute cuisine, launching casual, health-conscious Mediterranean concepts in Scottsdale before returning to high-end kitchens, according to Health and Living.
The Hospitality Group Behind Belmont
Belmont Kitchen & Cocktails opened in early 2025 at 8876 East Pinnacle Peak Road in North Scottsdale, in a complex directly next to the original Mastro’s Steakhouse, according to AZ Big Media.
