Apartments briefly evacuated after car hits gas meter in north Scottsdale

SCOTTSDALE, AZ (AZFamily) – Scottsdale Fire officials say a car struck a gas meter early Wednesday afternoon, causing a leak that led to brief evacuations in the area. Police and fire crews responded to the area of 100th Street and Thompson Peak Parkway shortly after 12 p.m., where a car had collided with a gas meter. The driver wasn’t hurt, but the crash caused a gas leak, leading fire crews to request additional units.
