PHOENIX– Justin Eric Lindsay, 29, of Phoenix, has been sentenced to 42 months in prison after pleading guilty to two counts of bank robbery, federal authorities announced last week.
U.S. District Judge David G. Campbell also decided that Lindsay’s prison term will be followed by 36 months of supervised release.
Between August 2023 and January 2024, Lindsay robbed six banks before he was arrested by agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, authorities said.
During two of the robberies, Lindsay falsely claimed he had a firearm, according to a release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
He pleaded guilty on June 27 and was sentenced last month, authorities said.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation had local law enforcement assistance from Tempe, Mesa, Peoria and Phoenix.
The case was part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, “a program bringing together all levels of law enforcement and the communities they serve to reduce violent crime,” the release stated.
