PHOENIX — One of the defendants involved in the brutal death of a 30-year-old man whose mutilated body was found on a Phoenix hiking trail has been sentenced to prison.
Manuel Calderon, 22, was sentenced Friday after pleading guilty to assisting a criminal street gang and improper practice with a dead body. Calderon was one of the suspects charged in the death of Bernardo Pantaleon, who was found dead at Mountain View Park in November 2023.
