GILBERT, Ariz. — The Gilbert Police Department has detained an individual who allegedly impersonated a bank employee and attempted to collect thousands of dollars from a local resident.
On March 21, officers responded to the report of a resident who believed they may have been scammed by someone claiming to be a bank employee. When officers arrived at the victim’s home, the victim was in possession of $30,000 and said the “fake” bank representative would soon be arriving to collect the money.
Police officers intercepted the individual and arrested him as he pulled into the victim’s street, police said. The person’s identity was not disclosed…
