Father, son accused of defrauding bond investors in Mesa sports complex

MESA, Ariz. — An indictment unsealed this week is charging a father and son with allegedly defrauding bond investors of a massive sports complex in the East Valley.

Randy Miller, 70, and Chad Miller, 41, are being charged with securities fraud after they allegedly made false or misleading statements to prospective investors of the Legacy Sports facility near Ellsworth and Pecos roads in Mesa, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of New York.

Starting in 2020, the Millers allegedly engaged in a scheme to lie to potential bond investors about the level of interest sports organizations had in using Legacy Park.
