Before Hegseth and aides were embroiled in leak scandal, they pushed for Phoenix VA reform

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth led an advocacy group that rallied for reforms during Phoenix’s dramatic VA scandal a decade before he was embroiled in a military group chat scandal.

Two top Hegseth aides put on leave by the Department of Defense this week also worked with him on VA reform during the high-profile scandal a decade ago.
